PERCY JACKSON: IS HE THE NEW HARRY POTTER?

In 2010 Harry Potter starts his “long goodbye” with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” which will be screened in November 2010, to be followed by the final film in 2011. The question now, is two-fold: who will follow Harry into screen legend? And which young actor is about to become a millionaire before he turns 20? Here’s a hint: he thinks he might be descended from the Greek gods of Olympus.

A SINGLE MAN

There’s a subtle but considerable difference between “gay films”, which depict the gay community and its lifestyle in a tightly focused way; and films like “A Single Man”, which focus less on sexuality and the gay community’s, than on a broader view of how gays interact with the wider society in which they live. This film focuses more on universal issues, like loss and grief, which affect gay and straight individuals in much the same way.
